It sets the tone for Black Mirror‘s sixth season perfectly. 2WEI & Bri Bryant’s haunting rendition of The Ink Spots’ 1941 song “I Don’t Want to Set the World on Fire” plays throughout. While the hype is well and truly real for the brand new season of Black Mirror, one specific element of the trailer stood out to fans – its music. It is set to arrive on Netflix in June 2023 with no specific release date announced at the time of writing. The upcoming season promises new stories featuring popular actors including Aaron Paul, Zazie Beetz, Kate Mara, Paapa Essiedu, and Josh Harnett. The beloved Netflix anthology series – which tells grippingly spooky tales about technology in the modern world – certainly has lots of ground to cover since Season 5. But in a surprise announcement on 26 April, the show’s official Twitter account shocked the Internet with a new Black Mirror Season 6 trailer.
It has been sorely missed in the years since, particularly due to world-changing events (such as Covid-19) and technological developments like NFTs and the rise of AI chatbots. Black Mirror has been off our screens since 2019.
